About

Youth Exchange Opportunity in our District

The Youth Exchange Program in Rotary and our District is one of the top foreign exchange programs for teens in the world.  The Youth Exchange Program gives teens an opportunity to live in a foreign country...staying in the homes of Rotarians under the sponsorship of a Rotary Club for one year. In addition to this long term program, there is a shorter version for students to go overseas for a month in the summer.

Do you know any teens who would be interested in participating in such an exchange?  If so, applications are being prepared right now for students who would like to go out on an exchange next summer (2017).  Deadline for the apps to be submitted is November 15.

If you would like to know more about this program please call 248-757-0864 to get information.

The Rotary Foundation

November is the month that Rotarians around the globe celebrate the wonderful accomplishments that have happened through the work and generosity of Rotarians and others who contribute to the Rotary Foundation.  The Rotary Foundation has been listed by Charity Navigator as one of the ten best run Foundations in the world.  Monies contributed are invested for three years and then distributions are made to fund service projects created by Rotary Clubs and Districts world-wide.

West Bloomfield Interact Club

Interact Clubs are a wonderful part of the Rotary world in the US, Canada and internationally.  Students from the ages of 12 to 18 are eligible to join an Interact Club either in their own school, a neighboring school or in their community where they live or work.  Our Interact Club was formed in 2008.  Students who join Interact Clubs stay in their club until they graduate from high school.  (Rotaract Clubs are formed at Universities or in communities for post-high school people).

Our current Club has about 10 members, and is under the leadership of Rishabh Parekh and Ari Feldhandler.  The group meets every other Sunday at the West Bloomfield Library, and they plan their activities for the coming weeks.
